For community partners
Thank you for hosting a team. Here is what to expect and what we ask of you.
What you get
- A team of 3 to 6 CSUDH business students, each committing 15+ hours between mid-October and mid-December.
- One management question answered with observation, interviews, and documents, analyzed through the Five Functions and the DART talent model.
- A written report (8–10 pages plus a 1-page executive summary) and a 7-minute presentation with specific, costed recommendations.
- A faculty member (Dr. Norman) copied on the first email and available throughout.
What we ask
- A 30-minute scoping conversation in the first two weeks.
- A named contact who can answer email within a few days.
- Access to a few people to interview and, where appropriate, a chance to observe.
- Honest feedback on the draft (late November) and the final presentation.
- Off-campus partners may need a CSUDH placement agreement; Dr. Norman will handle the paperwork.

Propose a project
If you would like a team in a future semester, email Dr. Norman at [email protected] with the organization, a contact, and the management question you would like students to take on. Good questions are specific ("why do volunteers stop after one event?") rather than broad ("improve morale").
